So Veea isn't necessarily always the buggy self she is.

I got some ideas of how these two idiots met. so, here it is!

Duchess is hands down one of the most studious ponies in the school. So, what happens when you have a changeling that knows barely anything about pony culture besides what she sees when she harvests love meeting a pony that knows all too well of the history of equestria and more? one mare slowly gaining a crush on the other. of course.

Anyway. When Veea doesn't have all that much knowledge on her new home in Canterlot. So when she is forced to enroll in a pompous school for ponies with too much money, at least by Veea's standards, she is met with the realization that she, a changeling, knows nothing.

As a way to make up for her lack of knowledge, the teacher assigns Duchess to tutor her. This doesn't go as well as Duchess would imagine as she is absolutely BAFFLED by how little a pony in canterlot knows not of even the most basic of facts in pony history. Of course she understand she's a transfer student, but goodness! She's the daughter of Spitfire and Sapphire Shores! is she not?

So, when the time comes for Duchess and Veea to study, Duchess invites her over to her home only to be bombarded by Duchess's parents. Fleur is absolutely ECSTATIC at the fact her little filly has gained new friends! Her father, of course, tries to comfort the new guest by assuring her that his wife is simply an affectionate mare and not, in fact, intentionally overstepping boundaries.

When the two are finally alone, Duchess gets a bit distracted. asking question after question to the poor changeling in disguise. After enough pestering and bothersome questions about her intelligence, Veea finally reveals the true reason behind her lack of prissy pony knowledge. She explains that her..."guardians" for the time being, Spitfire and Sapphire Shores, made her enroll into the school as a means of bettering her chances in Canterlot. Though she detested the idea, she knew that if she were to go along with the mare's plans of schooling, it would only mean more love to harvest throughout the school year. so she agreed. She was then enrolled under the alias "Brass Hooves."

Duchess was obviously a bit annoyed at the prospect of her classmates being plucked away at their love, but then again, how else was she supposed to eat? while it was a bit conflicting for Duchess, she decides to keep her thoughts to herself and just tutor the changeling.

Thoooough, as the two continued their studies. going back and forth with banter and such, Duchess would find herself in a precarious situation. The very being that steals love from others, she was beginning to fall for herself.

Life tends to work strangely she supposed.
