Description
The day was bright and colorful as the school fillies and colts cantered around, playing as they waited for the guardians to pick them up from school. A colt with a pale blue coat and accented feathers leaped in front of a dust coloured unicorn, playing tag as they waited for their parents.

As the young colt jumped in front of the unicorn, he gave a sly grin as he then jumped forward, yelling out "gotcha!" only to meet with the dirt path as the unicorn dodged the oncoming attack. She gave a cocky smirk back as she walked around him, kicking up dust as she pranced around him. "you're gonna have to be faster than that to catch me, Beat!" She said as she galloped off to her friend Duchess who was also playing along. The two exchanged giggles as they relished in their small victory.

The remark made the little colt snort in annoyance, getting back on his hooves and chased after the two. "you won't be saying that for long!" he replied with the same confidence as before. He picked up the pace as he followed after them, determined to make her eat her words. He would win! he wouldn't give up!

The three kept bantering back and forth as they continued their chase. As the three laughed and giggled back and forth, they were interrupted by a deep, "ahem.". Though the three continued on, not realizing the figure was trying to gain their attention. As the three played on, the figure sternly yelled out "Sonata!". This immediately grabbed the attention of the young colt as he recognized the tone and voice of the figure.

It was his dad! It had felt like ages since he'd last seen him! Neon Lights stood there, a stern and annoyed look branded on his face. He looked gruff, as if he had just rolled out of bed and hadn't bothered to tidy himself up in the slightest. His hair was matted and ruffled, it looked as if he hadn't bothered to trim up or anything. Frankly, he looked as if he wished he was anywhere but the school grounds.

Though, it looked as if Back Beat couldn't care less. His father was there! He hadn't ever really known where he had always been but he was here! The little colt dashed over to him with a bit of a skip to his gallop. "Hey Dad!" He said with a perked up smile to his cheery tone. He was merely met with his father turning to walk away, his expression never changing as he simply said. "it's time to head back"

As the two began to walk away, Back Beat chatting up a storm to his disinterested father, he seemed to have forgot to even say goodbye to his friends. Record left to watch as she was cast aside by Beat. She couldn't help but feel a bit hurt. One of her closer friends hadn't even said goodbye. She hadn't understand just what had unfolded, all she knew was that it... kind of hurt...

Duchess looked over at her friend and nudged her slightly. "Hey, come on" she said as she turned to face away from Beat and Neon Lights as if to walk away, waiting for her friend. Record hesitated as she watched Beat walk away. She grew silent for a moment before turning to Duchess. "... Boys are stupid anyway." she said, trying to rationalize her hurt feelings. Walking away with Duchess to continue where they had left off.

Hey all! I wanted to post a bit of a smaller interaction between Record and Beat. This moment, though small, kind of cemented something in their relationship. A pattern if you will.

Neon, being such an effective yet unstable model in Beat's live, often dips in and out of his life at random. Being obligated to meet with his son, he begrudgingly obliges. One thing he never really realizes though is just how much he impacts Beat's life. Whenever he's around, Beat will do whatever it takes to grab the attention of his inactive father.

As you can imagine, this causes quite a bit of strain on Record's and Beat's friendship. As the two grow older, Record becomes more aware of this and realizes that their friendship always takes a backseat to this stallions ill will towards his son. She knows she can't quite fix much, but tries to at least be their for Beat when she can.

This will lead into more story that I've thought up for these two later, but for now i hope you enjoy this mini interaction!
