The republicans were the democratically elected government remember. I agree that a stalinist government in Spain would have been worse than the later years of Franco (he killed a lot of republican veterans in concentration camps immediately after the war so in that respect probably better initially). But that's not what the republican side was, Stalin instigated purges despite not being fully in control of the republicans, the republicans had electoral participation within wartime and as such some freedoms were dangerous, but the purges by the devotees of stalin attempted to consolidate a kind of power they didn't have, they were never more than a political party within many and it was inappropriate for them to assault other movements on the same side, they hollowed out their own side.Β

We actually haven't condemned fascism in our country. Our own Hitler won, and when he died, his heir became king. No NΓΌrnberg Trials. Our army has same leaders, and many of the Franco's ministers became powerful politicians.
Do you really believe that Spaniard Communists lost their time digging up anyone while they were fighting against fascism? The truth is that the next years after the Civil War 2 milion people dissapeared. We had a ten-years postwar, and still nowadays our heroes lie somewhere near the roads' kerbs.
Church has always been friends with richs, so excuse us all commies if we hate nuns and prayers. However, as I said, it is strategically nonesense to be a demon for the population. As Lenin said, we may always question whose benefit comes from every action.

Fascism is BY FAR one of the worst types of ideologies in my opinion. So many people lose their freedom and often live in horrible conditions because of the evil ideology of fascism~

My grandfather was an Italian partisan in WW2, he defeated Italian fascism and brought democracy back. I hate fascism as I personally dislike the whole concept of ruling the world with Imperialism and military might. The only positive, is that everyone at least becames a patriot and opposes to badtalk about the country. But it's a bad ideology in general, just like all extremes.
