This is a brand new 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 with its rival the 2010 Camaro RS (I know...it's not a fair fight, the GT500 is best compared to the high performance version of the Camaro - the SS).

I took this pic at Laguna Seca on 24 Mar 10. I took this pic at Laguna Seca on 24 Mar 10 during a gathering of automotive journalists (WAJ). Good question - they a few exhibition cars including the Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing, Rolls Royce 200EX V12 Twin Turbo, a '69 Dodge Daytona raced by NASCAR legend Buddy Baker, the Rothmans Porsche racecar, and they had suitable cars for some interesting comparos. Unfortunately I could only be there for about 30 min of my lunchbreak. I wish I could've spent the whole day there to see track time with the E63 AMG vs CTS-V vs Jag XFR vs SHO vs 300C SRT/8 vs Audi S4 and the SRT/8 Challenger vs GT500 vs Camaro (albeit an RS) and the STi vs Evo and Grand Sport Vette vs SL63 AMG vs Jag XKR vs V8 Vantage vs GT3 and even the Jeep SRT/8 vs X5 M vs X6 M vs 550i GT. And there were some less interesting new models such as the Mercedes hybrid S400H, Acura's copycat version of the X6/550i GT, and Hyundai's new 2011 Sonata, Lexus's little hybrid that looks like a Corolla, Kia's cute little Koup, some sporty looking Suzuki that looks like it wants to challenge Evo & WRX.
