The game.This is one is a little strange ... It started yesterday when I was hanging out at the carnival with my son. When he was a baby, I was always so big and strong for him, but yesterday he was able to make me work hard and even beat me a few times. I also got tired as the afternoon went one when he seemingly had gained energy. It was a strange feeling and the very first time I experienced this shift.... it is strange, scary but also in an weird weird way it is giving me a sense of peace because heβs turning out to be an incredibly decent kid.

This is a moment we all go through as parents. I remember sitting in the corner of the living room feeling old, but watching my three beautiful sons play guitar and talk and laugh. So I said to them "at your age, you probably fear growing old, but it has just dawned on me that, if I didn't reach this age, I would never have the joy of being in this moment. If you'd have structured this in a circle, it could have been titled 'the circle of life'. It has a basket ball though, so perhaps just 'the basket ball of life'?

Oh man... my little girl is 4 so this hits me personally. I know I'll experience this too. The sense of pride and relief but also a touch of loneliness that you can't be those things you used to be anymore because that time in their lives is over. Aw.... okay, I'll try not to cry.
