as you should.
i remember my father teaching me how to ride a bike...
it was in the magical land i referred to before, some call it simply "the beach."
anyway, my mom was there, coaching me along, i was fearless when i came to my three wheeler... loved coasting around on it... but dad was determined to have a family bike ride around the beach area... i don't really remember it, but i do remember how he taught me to learn: it was near our condo, in a graveled parking lot opposite, i think it might have once been a gas station or a pharmacy/the place that carries a little bit of everything.
i remember not being afraid because said he would never let go until i said i was ready.... but as soon as i felt the freedom of those wheels... dad couldn't keep up with me! he said "um... i let go? i'm guessing that;s ok?" and i yelled back "WHAT!!!" and fell over. i think i yelled at him for letting go, and started to laugh, and got back up on the bike and asked "wait, how do you get on a bike without someone else holding it?" ... and thus began my fearlessness when it came to things i should have fear of... like climbing trees and falling out of them, only to land on my arse, be angry with myself for falling and getting sap on my favorite tee shirt, and climbing back up before my mom figured out where i was in the backyard or that i had fallen
but i always trusted my dad to keep his word... he's never broken it, and i know he never will.. unless i move too fast for him
using such little color, you've captured SO much emotion: joy, that feel of family and trust and adventures. all of it. with so little. it's incredible.
magic. i'm sticking with magic!
my love of coasting on my bike probably explains why i desperately want to be certified with a motorcycle license, and then somehow find a way to rent one? i don't know enough about engines to buy a broken one and fix it up... so i'll have to wait until i'm rich and famous.
i still have a long wishlist for when i have money:
1. a beautiful stand alone remington typewriter (mine is a carry along... which is not great for displays... so it's covered in silliness, like a t-rex fighting a stegosaurus, and all four (very tiny) ninja turtles hanging out in the case (i have the case opened, so you can see the typewriter... but the keys stick, and i've pretty much given up trying to use it.)
2. motorcycle (when i have a license to drive one and feel comfortable driving said machine... a small one so i can coast around and enjoy the fall on the east coast.
3. money for another tattoo (i have two small ones, one for strength: two crossed oars from my rowing days; and one for peace: a dove with an olive branch in its beak, and one large tattoo: a poem by Hafiz: "even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth, "you owe me", look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky."... i love the idea of manifesting words on my body... selfish love seemed to be a good pick. next one i want is: an archery shooting an arrow into the sun. it needs to be simple and befitting with the rest of my tattoos (all are black and simple lines.) so i really need to find someone to create a simple sun design, and a small and simple female archer, with an arrow... in a way, an homage to icarus... the arrow will burn up, dream, just stay grounded enough not to fall. many interpretations, that was mine.
sorry pascal, i did the writer thing and wrote a novel in your comment section!
sorry friend!
your artwork always brings a story out of me, either true, or a made up, but always fun.
thank you, friend, for creating another wonderful piece with so little color and yet, it emotes so much!
love to you and yours,
hill

a motorcycle... ha.. funny
No worries.. I like reading your entries.. I don't have your talent with words, so don't be offended if I can't write back as much. I do read them all and love all of your posts though

coming from you, pascal, that was possibly the kindest compliment i've ever received.
thank you, friend.
one year i'll get a hotel near the bay area, and my parents are thrilled. mostly because i can learn a lot from you.
one year
and the compliments are legit. i think you need more followers... because, well, you're incredible.i look forward to seeing your artwork. but i have to say, i look forward to, if it happens, actually meeting the man behind the devintartID....i know he has a wonderful family, that he's a talented artist, and very compassionate towards 27 women dealing with 13 years of chronic pain.
thank you. all of the compliments are legitimate, and you have a way with words, it's simply more concise... whereas i tend to ramble
always a pleasure, friend

You have twins? That's so cool))) I mean you should be very proud of them))) Can I ask a private question? Do they have very similar behavior or they totally different from each other?
