Description -Later that day-

Before I left the city I bought a reasonably priced hide shield (the only one I could really afford, but hey, it's not like I'm going to war). The only thing more abundant than axes here is snow, so I had one of those at hand. My only regret is having left with this light outfit. A tattered shirt that once could have been identified as properly “white”, beaten leather pants probably older than I am and shoes not far behind. I thankfully arrived in the village not too long after departing Windhelm.

Apparently this guy only comes around on certain day, but the innkeeper was kindly enough to let me sleep in the storeroom for the night. Guess she took pity on me. Wont freeze, none the less. Probably. The guy should be here tomorrow, I think.

-Next day-

After taking his sweet time he arrived. And then swindled me out of 79 drakes for a location- a mine southwest of the village. So, I took off. Like an idiot. Thankfully Stendarr was with me on this day, because the wolves I ran into seemed uncoordinated and scrawny, and the giant that crossed the road didn't take notice- or thought me too insignificant to bother with. Did I mention the skeevers? I'm just glad the nick the one got off on me doesn't seem to be infected.

Once I'd snuck past a bandit-held keep and fended off awful beasts, I finally came to the mine. And found that the only people there were miners and some Stormcloaks, apparently left over from whatever had happened. I asked a miner and the Imperial's ambushed and captured Ulfric as well as some of his men. They took them to some place ever southwester called 'Helgen', which I could get to fairly quickly by taking a carriage to Whiterun, in middle Skyrim, and traveling south, first to Riverwood, then Helgen.

Not wanting to run through the countryside again, I tagged along with the Stormcloaks that were headed back to Windhelm to give word of what'd gone down. That trip back was so tense I thought I'd combust at the slightest hint of friction. We arrived back at the city as it was getting late, so once the carriageman had taken all but 15 of my drakes for a ride to Whiterun I slept in the back.
