Nice attempt, but this came out very two dimensional. I would experiment with more displacement maps to get closer to the effect you were trying to achieve.

I agree with you fully. I actualy hate this and would scrap it but for some reason it got 8 favs even tho i gave it all of 20 mins work. world works funny like that sometimes. I'll probobly come back to this eventually but it's such an overdone idea that it's boring.
