The leaf fairy princess opened her eyes and looked foggily into the dark sky. Every muscle in her body ached. With a groan she pushed herself up in sitting position on the hard rock she had been sleeping on. Now fully awake, Elvenia went through the previous events in her head. She closed her fist around a delicate leaf necklace as to check if it was still there. Remembering her family would be worried about her, she stood up and tried to fly. She /tried/. In her hurry to leave she had forgotten her torn wing from the escape. "Those vines must have been very strong with magic," Elvenia thought. "It takes a lot to tear a fairies strong wings." Letting out a deep sigh Elvenia realized she would have to walk. Like most fairies, she hated walking on the hard ground. After all, what good was walking if you had two beautiful wings? However, Elvenia knew it was pointless trying to fly one winged. She started off in what was hopefully the right direction. She didn't notice that as she walked little green sprouts shot up from the dry ground.

Meanwhile in the castle of Vario the worried king and queen sat hunched in their thrones. "She has been gone for days!," the queen said more to herself than the king. "What could have happened to her?" Just as the queen finished her sentence, a strange fairy entered the room. "Hello," he said. "I heard the princess was missing and wondered if I could be of any assistance." The king looked up and studied him. Normally the king would have been more suspicious and careful, but he merely nodded. "We could use all the help we could get," he replied in a tired tone. "May I have permission to search the entire kingdom and use some of your supplies?" The stranger requested. "Sure, go ahead." The king said absentmindedly in reply to the odd question. Leaving the room the stranger gave a small chuckle. "That was certainly easy," he thought. "They didn't even ask why I needed the supplies." Then he headed off searching for the princess and her powerful necklace.
