The underbelly,(to my liking) could be smaller to add, additional gracefulness,I agree. But remember
YOU are the artist! It is YOUR work.

The legs are FINE.It is YOUR interpretation,YOU are the artist. Was it Einstein??? who said the best way to failure is to please everybody,or maybe Churchill?
You said somewhere you are NOT??? an artist.C'mon man, after i saw your CAT: You are a G R E A T artist. You give us your ,YOUR artistry, not the one of your wife, friends,me, or whoever.
Keep going,I wish I could have bought the cat of you.
The cat is SUPERB!!!
Harry.

"The best way to failure is to please everybody", I'll try to remember that the next time I'm in doubt.
Thanks for the compliments.

I can only dream of being this talented.
You've not only depicted her attitude through her posture but it also clearly shows in her expression. Even her underlying emotions seem to come through. Excellent.

I love the nice clean angular planes - no wasted motion here. You imparted great attitude. BTW, here legs are great - yes a tad longer than the 'average' but it helps emphasize her 'art deco' like elegance. Barrie

"'art deco' like elegance" that has a nice ring to it.
Thank you.

I'm about to make a cast of it. If you have any suggestion for improvement, this is the time.

My only critique would be that her lower abdomen looks a little big...not much, but just a little. However, the way you are showing it is probably realistic for most women unless you are looking at a super-skinny model.

Now that you mention it. I'll consider the size of the abdomen. Legs are long too, though.
Thanks for the input.

I guess the reason the bulge of her stomach stood out to me is that everything else seems to kind of be pointing up...her chin, her elbows, her gaze, the way she's holding her shoulders...they all seem to be pointing upwards to me, but then her belly seems a little soft and relaxed, which just stands out in contrast...but that's just the way I see it.

Don't get me wrong though, she's a beautiful piece. I don't think the legs look too long...they seem to work well with the proportions of everything else.

Good luck!

"Relax" is good because of the function this figure will have in the finished sculpture.
BTW, she'll be leaning on something (not depicted yet) with her right arm, in a very relaxed way.

Thanks for the advice and good luck to you too.
