Heather hummed softly as she made sure Cairo's girth was nice and snug. She loved free style dressage shows more than the structured ones...she was looking foward to performing a new trick for the judges this evening.
Cairo had been in training for the Olympics coming up and Heather had asked a friend of hers, a dressage trainer, to come out and help the team broaden their skills. This trick was a very old 'Airs' move that wasn't popular in this day and age now.. Her thoughts were interrupted as their number was called.
The Blonde hopped up into the saddle and trotted her large stallion into the ring. Unlike some horses, she never had to fight or pull on Cairo's soft mouth. He was a very 'sensitive' horse when it came to dressage ques. Thanks to his naturally intelligent and inquisitive behavior, he was also a very fast learner when it came to tricks.
Cairo came to a nice stop, neck arched as Heather saluted the judges then the music started and the horse and rider began their dance...

"This town is colder now, I think it's sick of us
It's time to make our move, I'm shaking off the rust
I've got my heart set on anywhere but here
I'm staring down myself, counting up the years
Steady hands, just take the wheel...
And every glance is killing me
Time to make one last appeal... for the life I lead"

Cairo's hoof beats fit into the steady rhythm of the song and the duo swayed as one , their body's rocking as the stallion performed a collected trot.

"Stop and stare
I think I'm moving but I go nowhere
Yeah I know that everyone gets scared
But I've become what I can't be, oh
Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you're here not there
And you'd give anything to get what's fair
But fair ain't what you really need
Oh, can you see what I see"

After showing a few flying lead changes, Heather felt her heart beat harder.. what if he couldn't do it... what if her stallion was too tired or didn't feel like performing their new trick and refuse? What if she threw them off balance?...too late to worry it was time...

Cairo gathered his weight on his hand quarters, thousands of pounds being lifted forward. He then threw out his front legs outwards 'striking' down the enemy before him. The giant then went down and seemed to barely tough the sand before he leaped forward once more and striking out at his foes. He performed three of the Courbette before moving into an extended trot..

"They're trying to come back, all my senses push
Untie the weight bags, I never thought I could...
Steady feet, don't fail me now
Gonna run till you can't walk
Something pulls my focus out
And I'm standing down..."
