Back in the day I had a concept of where Shyguys came from. I always assumed they were Toads hypnotized by Ludwig von Koopa into becoming shyguys. Not the first time Bowser and his cronies would have turned the denizens of the Mushroom Kingdom into enemies. But goiven as SMB2 was sort of a one-off game with a totally different villain, I thought it would make more sense for Wart to enter the dreams of people and use his amulet to turn them into Shyguys in the real world. Kind of a Nintendo version of Freddy Kruger.

So, here's Peach after her transformation.
