Description
This was a practice piece done in Watercolour and Gouache. I intended to do a much larger painting in Acrylic. However someone said I had made the Knight look like a girl and the horses like donkeys
I have scanned it after discovering it languishing under a pile marked 'duds'. Tweaked the colours in Photoshop and posted it, warts and all.

My only criticism would be that the head of the smaller horse is at a slightly impossible angle to its neck - and its ears. If it were looking forward, toward the other horse, which would be the natural thing for it to do, the whole thing would work just fine. I think your attention to detail is amazing, and it surely has the look of tapestry! Please don't put it back in the dud pile, make a larger painting, but turn the pony's head!

I like the way it looks, like a combination of a tapestry and sort of Pre-raphaelite painting with some medieval-like proportion!

I think it looks Pre-Raphaelite-ish...their figures tended to be a little androgynous (so what?). As for looking like donkeys- small, brown with big ears? I don't see that anywhere. As "practice " pieces go, it looks pretty finished to me.
