Description
This is dedicated to everyone who has taken the time to make a comment or fave my work and has been understanding enough to forgive the fact that I don’t always reply.Interesting poll results and comments about it here. [link]
As a very mature and private English lady I find it difficult sometimes to understand ‘the rules’ so I hope I can be forgiven. I really enjoy being part of DeviantArt and in fairness this week is the very first time I have had a critical comment so perhaps I am being ultra sensitive.
Anyway! Enough of that. Let’s all enjoy and be encouraged by each others artistic creations, in my opinion that is primarily what DeviantArt is all about.
Seeing Red
Freehand, no sketching watercolour on Whatman 200 lb Rough surface paper. St Petersburg water-colour paints. Time taken approx 35 minutes. Scanned into Photoshop, surprisingly good scan. No colour correcting needed. Fiddled with levels a bit and did some swoopy bits in the hair with the Smudge tool> 93%>Natural Brushes. Added a few twinkles, couldn’t resist.

I just want to say that the contrast between the smoothness of the smudged hair and the splatters and texture of the paper is really neat! Very eye- catching.

Lovely. The contrast between the rawness of watercolor and the smoothness of the smudging through the hair is just sublime. A beautiful example of combining traditional with digital.

Your art is gift enough, and though some people get weird about not getting replies to their comments, for the most part, I think that people would rather see you be creative and spend more time creating more of your beautiful work, than having to spend excessive amounts of time answering comments. At least that is how I feel about it.

We are all participants here at DA. We have a life aside from our art and at times it makes it difficult to meld the two worlds together. I get such extreme pleasure from the amazing art I find here and I thank each and every artist for the joy it brings me. I was once told that if we expect thanks for giving then we are not really giving at all and I find pleasure in just saying hello and letting you know that your art is exceptional and gives me as much pleasure in looking as it does for you in creating so in actual fact we have given thanks already....
