What kind of script produced a flame like this?? It's wild. It reminds me of a sculpture made up of sections of braided rag rugs glued or sewn into a 'twist'.. My grandmother used to make rag rugs when I was a kid...and boy! were they heavy when it came to shaking them out...LOL She'd cut up old t-shirts and socks in such a way that the strips were a loop. Then each loop was looped together with another loop and so on to make a ''rope'' which was rolled up in a ball. Then she'd braid 3 of these loop ropes together into a single rope until she had enough to make a rug. She'd use a heavy thread/cord to sew the braid into a spiral until she had a round rug. Or zigzag back and forth to make a rectangular rug.. They were pretty sturdy rugs, that's for sure, and colorful, too.

Pat this was a flame that I worked with and it does remind me of a braided rug when you look at it close.

Alterren In reply to PatriciaRodelaArtist [2007-09-28 02:56:10 +0000 UTC]

Nope, you did just fine. That's how I feel about my frames, since I make them myself from sight (using my eyes to judge the equality) and the measurements the program gives me. I'm always afraid one side will be larger than the other.

Sorry for the book of a comment!

Good morning Morgan, about the making of frames, the program I use is Corel Paint Shop Pro and it offers just their frames, I can't even make changes to them or make my own. I wish they had a better selection or that I could at least change colors on the boarders, etc.

How come you don't put frames on your fractals?

Very pretty by the way!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PatriciaRodelaArtist In reply to TThealer56 [2007-09-28 02:37:27 +0000 UTC]

I was just thinking that it needed something myself, so I added a mat around it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TThealer56 In reply to PatriciaRodelaArtist [2007-09-28 03:49:26 +0000 UTC]

That's not exactly what I was going after, but this frame is very very nice and doesn't detract from your fractal. A little wide for my taste, but that's just taste, it doesn't over shadow the work!

I'm picking on your photography again. I can't help it! Your photography is good enough, you don't need to be putting frames around it that take away from the photo itself. Not to say you have to copy me or anything, I'm saying let your work shine! A smaller frame on your photography would be better, I think

Good morning Bob and Alice, as to the frames on my photography I'm not sure when I need on at times or not. And as to my program that I use, I'm not real thrilled with the frames it offers. I can't even make my own. It's Corel Paint Shop Pro.

TThealer56 In reply to PatriciaRodelaArtist [2007-09-28 16:45:21 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes you can!
To make a frame, with out a "frame" program, all you have to do to make a simple one is set the background to say, "black", then increase your canvas size by say "100 pixels" where it gives you the option to place the image in the middle of the canvas, choose center. You will now have a 50 pixel black frame around your image!

Well, will wonders ever cease? I spent an hour or so playing around with my Corel Paint Shop Pro, ( the instruction video that came with it didn't work on my Vista PC.) and figured out how to put a boarder with different colors on my pictures and fractals.

TThealer56 In reply to PatriciaRodelaArtist [2007-09-28 19:36:16 +0000 UTC]

There ya go! Just don't detract from your good photography and fractals, that's a shame when that happens!
