As Alfred arrived at Tidmouth Sheds, he noticed Edward looking very sad. Edward thought Alfred was going to mock him like the other 3 engines on trial, however Alfred looked worried about Edward and pulled along him

Alfred: Is everything ok there?
Edward: Well, since The Fat Director had got bigger engines, I'm no longer used in regular service. Here I am just sat here collecting dust. The bigger engines just look down on me!
Alfred: I'm sorry to hear that er, what is your name?
Edward: My name is Edward, what's your name?
Alfred: My name is Alfred. Do you know the engines names who look down on you?
Edward: Two these engines only have numbers, 98462 and 87546. There's also a red engine who also looks down on me and she's numbered 76439 and named Serleena. There's also an engine named Gordon and he's the biggest. Although he teases me but he knows his limits.
Alfred: Are there other engines they look down to other than you?
Edward: They look down on Thomas and boss him as he's Station Pilot!

Alfred was furious after he heard this

Alfred: They are bullies and the only one who should give orders is The Fat Director as it's his railway afterall. They need to be put in their place before anything else happens!
