First, this isn't current work but I'm cleaning up files and such and after thinking about it I kind a like the way it turned out in the end. I didn't like it when I first completed it. LOL I guess if you wait long enough. hmmmmm

So, I'm just sharing earlier work.

The illumination was done in September of 2006. It was an entry in a local SCA A & S. I put it together rather quickly because we wanted to make sure there was stuff on display. The word got out late. Anyway the theme was Fox Hunt. In my theme, the fox got away.

I got this idea from Gaston Pheobus Book of the Hunt. It's mostly gouache. I didn't have enough time or gold to diaper the background properly. The paper is pergamenta and likes to curly at the slightest bit of humidity. I didn't take this photo someone else took and sent it to me.

The calligraphy got done in Jan. 2007 for an archery award scroll in the SCA. I hadn't planned on using it but it fit the award. The calligraphy was done with a Mitchel 6 nib. The intitials were done with gouache.
