Description
Inspiration: Painted Prayers - around 15th c FrenchMaterial: Gouache, dry pigments, crow quill, various brushes
Comments: This was done in a hurry and it's style I don't normally do. I'm not sure if I like it or hate it. I plan to not look at if for a while and then come back to it.
It ended up being a gift to the Crown. See journal entry for more detail.

You should be proud of this scroll. It's just in a very different style. The boxed-in areas tend to make this style less free flowing that your other scrolls. The colors are so crisp and bright, and there's a whole lot of detail. Beautiful work!

Haha I think ALL artists have that problem, I don't think I have a single piece I can look at and not see at least a few flaws. It makes me insane! So I understand... but I still love your scrolls

well i nver liked later french border work anyway(seriously) it did get a bit geometrical and I tend to like German/Belgian and English styles(hence my current project's feel.) Although the illumination's influence may be English, I will say though that the script's influence in my current work is a mixture of Jean Flamel(Belgian living and working in france(scriptor to the Duke of Berry himself) and Ricardus Franciscus(English scribe) But
you do give this piece a nice feel. especially the roses!!!!
