I love her dress~! It's so wonderfully well detailed, and the intricacy of that tiny eyelet trim is gorgeous~ The texture of the leaves in the background is beautiful~!

This is a very cute image. Almost like from a fairy tale books. The toned down greens work so nicely with the luscious red mushrooms and dark browns. The overall feel of this image is very calm and friendly, yet you’ve spiced it up nicely with bright reds.
The layout also works nicely and you have plenty of details evenly spread on the canvas. The main focus is on the character and the details frame her nicely. You have used quite a lot of ready made brushes that I’d advice to do a little less, but in general the textures look lovely in this picture.
What I think needs to be improved on is the shading. This image doesn’t have a very distinguished light source and most of the shading is carried out with darker tones rather than different hues. For example there could be green or purple to shade the skin or blue to shade the dress. The lack of changes in hue and color values makes this image look rather flat. There aren’t any highlights either and one can’t really tell the time of day in the image. The contrast looks good on the background and the flora, but the character needs more of it.
You have a very nice start with digital painting here :3 keep up the good work.

Hello from Project Comment!
I really love this piece- it has an interesting story behind it and makes me wonder (who's the lover *is it a human??)! I also like the details you put into it, the leaves in the background, the grass, the mushrooms etc - love the rodent. I can tell you spent lots of time and effort on it! Although at first its hard to recognize she's a gnome because the background is the same size as it would be from a regular human's perspective, and so are the mushrooms (although they can be small mushrooms i guess lol). Like someone else mentioned, she doesn't really fit into the image, and for the same reasons they said, the variation in shadow sharpness. Again I love how it draws the viewer in to the details! <3

Ah ok- there were a few red mushrooms that used to be around where I lived that we're about the size of a ruler

Awesome picture, especially the background is very detailed. But it looks like the person doesn't fit into the picture. I think it's mainly because you have a sharp shadow in the background and the person has a very soft and barely visible shadow. ProjectComment
