Song "Gerda" by Roma VPR is based upon Hans Christian Andersen's "Snow Queen".
Kay sings about his imprisonment in the land of ice. He is dreaming about Gerda, who, he believes, is going to save him.
But when she finally finds and rescues him, he fades away like the mist in the air.

that's watercolours, first i did the red layer, then after it got dry, added blue paint over it

I love "The Snow Queen" It's one of my favorites. But I know a different version.
Kay cannot remember anything outside of the iceland. And when Gerda saves him, his heart is made of ice, so he does not recognize her until she cries and the tears melt/thaw his heart.

well..that is not an original version i'm talking about.. its actually the song description, a love story about the strong girl and weak boy.
i was inspired by this song, and the songwriter was inspired by Andersen's story

I remember I read this book illustrated by Stasys Eidrigevicius when I was little and I was really touched, both for the story AND the drawings... It may have been an adaptation, because I don't remember any song in it...

*i looked up for Eidrigevicius (ashamed but i havent heard of him before)...marvellous, just marvellous...now wishing i'd have one of those books he illustrated

Ohhhh, I see! Too bad I can't understand it
I know, he's so wonderful... You know, I had this book when I was little, and I liked it a lot, but the drawings were a little scary to me! And then, many MANY years later... someone draw something that remind me of that... so I looked up for the book, and there it was... and I noticed I've never searched WHO the illustrator was!! And that's how I knew Stasys... like 15 years later

This makes me think that the child's home is the cold. I agree with tiamat9, this is very well balanced. It has a sort of minimalist aspect with the colors that you used. the only thing that kinda caught my attention was the writing on the bottom, but thats just a minor detail.
