Here's some art for chapter 36 of Reluctant Hero. Its Aang and the gold egg as well as the 'Bell' Avatar. One of Zuko's past lives. Lazy background is lazy, but is at least kind of fun. I thought of doing smoke dragons, but that seemed a bit too sinister.

yeah. in the episode where because zuko loses his fire they(him and Aang) go to visit the temple of the sunwarriors. they see the golden egg and then are found by the sunwarriors.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. Though we never found out if it was really an egg or just a decorative piece. I doubt they would use a real dragon egg in a trap.

I really love this story of yours. At first, I was a bit hesitant to read it, because it was quite slow the first five chapters, and man, there are so many OC's, it's not something I'm used to, but it really started to grow on me the farther I went into the story. I'm at chapter 23 now, so, almost done with the first book.
I was, however, wondering when you would post the next chapter, as you haven't updated since 6 February. I know it says 5 June on AO3, which doesn't make any sense, but I'm taking into account that FanFiction.Net is your primary source, if you may, when you post literature, as it is both the place where you posted the story first but also the one that has the oldest update.
So, yeah, I was just hoping that you weren't quitting it and decided to ask. I really do enjoy it.
