Story from back in the day (well earlier actually, the SAAB 96 entered production with the 941cc 2-stroke).

The Monte Carlo rally introduced a "test" that was just a long straight, clearly to benefit the Ford Falcon. The SAAB team (including Eric Carlsson (on the roof) and his wife Pat Moss-Carlsson) painted "Ford Falcon Freeway" on this road one night. The following night another slogan appeared next to their's, which read "SAAB go home".
