Description Many of you may ask "But who was taking all the photos while you ran the engine?"

On my travels I found two of the neighbor's kids, who proceeded to give me an old fashioned stick-em-up robbery with wooden sticks.  After being shot dead several times and falling off my moving engine, I enlisted their help in filming our adventures, as well as breaking firewood for me.  THey were great helpers, the girl is Emma, Allan's granddaughter.   It was very surreal, playing in the woods like a 12 year old with those who are actually 12 years old, and with a running steam road locomotive as your go-kart and jungle-gym.   This is how a kid is supposed to grow up, it is how I grew up.  This was a return to my roots.

I've ran traction engines before! Great machines they are, they seem to have a will of their own at times. The only difficulty for me is I'm not terribly tall. And the backhead is, so I'm lucky to see my front wheels at times, but that's what whistles are for!

This is what life is supposed to be. Now imagine if you (or we) could do this every day, while actually doing proper work with that engine... It seems like it may be possible. You need to tell  people like the one who owns this engine, of the collection in Canada I had showed you.

This is indeed what life is supposed to be, and yes indeed imagine.......imagine.

I do need the exact information of the canadian site, because I DO want to tell Allan about it.

All we need is something akin to a non-religious Amish sect.

When I told the guy that I would want the location for the information of an American friend, he did not respond. Maybe he's waiting for your email, did you mail the Canadian guy?

Perhaps something less mundane.  I had a beautiful dream last night, absolutely pertinent to this that I must share with you.

I have not emailed him yet, I am not sure if he will understand English

This is what I make my life out of, steam power.  It is the only thing that keeps me alive.
