It's been invading my twitter feed over the past 2 days as well, hahah. I don't think it's a new fetish, but just something fun that people want to draw.

It originated from a picture someone tweeted of them finding such a shirt, and then wearing it and taking a photo of themselves. Then I guess some artists though I'd be funny to draw various characters wearing the same shirt, since it had such a unique design. Hope that answered your question.
