M A N…like I said, this chapter is just full of scenarios/interactions that i’ve been waiting to get to for what seems like forever. Addressing the license situation is, of course, one of them. HEAVILY aided by my 2022 hiatus and fleshing out some details about how laws in Hoenn works, might I add.

Finally getting to touch on something that’s been lingering in the bg somewhat, but is just now being brought to the forefront. The idea of Civ vs Sei classification in Hoenn society. The most TLDR description I can give you w/o getting to into stuff im going to go over later is that Seis are shown to live a lifestyle dealing with pokemon professionally (trainers, construction workers, etc) and Civs generally only deal with them casually (pets, going to the zoo, etc). As for why someone can be undeclared? Well, that’s another topic for another time XD

At some point while I was working on this chapter - specifically this page - I just so happened to find myself at the MVA getting my own license exchanged (with the RealID one…yeah im late as hell lolll). It was great, because it always helps to actually get irl reference even for things you think you know pretty well. There were alot of little details I got from waiting in that lobby. Thankfully the guy who took care of me was actually incredibly cool. Poor socially awkward Asadi did not get that privilege unfortunately….

Oh! Asadi’s last name was also something i’ve been waiting to reveal for years now! Not for any particular reason, I just think it’s neat and rolls off the tongue. Though guess I can’t say it’s not for aannyy reason…but you’ll just have to wait on that ;) (Wink) OH, and the fact that she didn't attend school past a certain age is something too... but that will also absolutely be brought up again later....

Got to play with the 2006 influence alot here! Look at that old ass dinosaur ass computer. That was fun >w<

Ah yes… the family tradition of foreshadowing much deeper societal issues into a sky transition. Yes if Springer looked vaguely familiar here, it’s definitely intentional!

Curious about what your guys’ reaction will be to the interaction between Asadi and her mom post-license rejection. I’ll just say it’s definitely something I want to (and do) delve deeper into…
