Description Chris sat outside the house, staring down at the green grass as he loosely hugged his knees. He had become all too familiar with that position. But it was worth it if he ever wanted to see her again.

It had been three months since the accident that changed his life. And it had been three months since he last saw her. He remembered the way she screamed and cried that night, and how helpless he was to comfort her. More than anything he wanted to wrap his arms around her and hold her tight. But he knew that would never happen again.

With his new life he knew that there was going to be a lot of things that he would miss about her.

He would miss getting a whiff of her shampoo when he hugged her. He would miss the way she held his hand when they walked. He would miss the way she snuggled up to his side during a movie. He would miss how soft her lips were when they shared a kiss. But most of all, he would miss the way she smiled at him.

Chris sighed, wishing things were different. For the past three months he could hear her cry. Sometimes she cried until she fell asleep, and other times she would go silent, and that’s what really worried him. Not knowing what she was doing all alone, up in her dark room killed him. He feared she would do something she would regret.

“If only things were different,” he whispered to himself. “I’m sorry, Jess… This is all of my fault.” He waited, but he knew he wouldn’t get a reply. He never did.

“I am so sorry,” he told her again, just like he did every other day since the accident. “I just wish you knew-“

A small noise made Chris immediately stop talking. He listened carefully and looked towards the tiny window. “Jessica?” he whispered in awe as he watched—for the first time in months—the curtains slowly open to her bedroom. It was hard for him to look inside, even though his eyes were level with the window; the light from the sun reflected just enough that he could only see movement. And that’s when he heard it.

There was a small creak that came from her bedroom window. That sound alone brought back memories of when they would climb out on to the porch roof and sit there for hours talking. On the nights that he stayed late they would go out there, and lay on a blanket as they gazed up at the stars. It was the same spot where they had their first kiss.

Chris watched his seemingly tiny girlfriend carefully climb out of the window and make her way a little further down the roof, where she finally sat down, legs off to the side. He couldn’t get over how small she looked, or how hard it was to make out the color of her eyes, even though he knew by memory that they were green.

“Hey,” Chris spoke gently, a smile forming on his face from seeing her again. “How are you holding up?”

She kept quiet as she stared off into the mountains.

He sighed. “Jess… I was just trying to save your life. I didn’t mean to burden you with mine. That’s the last thing I wanted. You know that… Right?”

The young, blonde girl looked down at her lap.

“Please don’t blame yourself?” He wanted to let go of his legs so he could pick her up and hold her against him. But he knew it was pointless, so he held on even tighter. “I know how you get. You are your own worst enemy, Jessica Harris.” He gave her a sad smile, “You can’t blame yourself for my death.”

*~*~*~*~*

As she sat there, Jessica thought back to that day that ruined their lives.

They had decided to go for a walk and get some ice cream. Chris had gotten his usual two scoops of chocolate, and she had decided to go with Rocky Road for a change. It had been a while since she last had it.

Maybe it was a sign. A warning of some sort, she thought.

NO. Don’t go there again. You know what happens when you do, her inner self warned.

She cleared her mind of those thoughts as she kept thinking about how happy they were that night, and how Chris teased her for eating so slowly. They were only two blocks away from the ice cream shop, taking their time as they walked down the sidewalk. Chris had his camera with him and was taking pictures as they walked. He never went anywhere without it, but Jessica didn’t mind. She enjoyed seeing him do something that he loved so much.

“Hey, stay there for a second,” he said as he ran ahead of her and turned around, with his camera aimed at her.

“Chris, come on. I’m still eating!” she yelled at him, though her smile gave her away.

“I know,” Chris smirked from behind the camera.

She was finishing up the first scoop when they heard the screech. Jessica looked to the right and was suddenly blinded by headlights. Holding her hand up to block the light, she screamed in surprise at the site before her.

A car was headed straight for her.

“JESSICA!” Chris yelled as he charged for her as she stood there, frozen in fear.

Their bodies collided as he slammed into her, shoving her out of the way. The ice cream cone went flying out of her grip. When she hit the ground she felt a heavy weight on her left leg, breaking the bone instantly. She screamed in pain as she turned around in time to see the tire roll off of her foot. There was a loud crash of glass shattering, as the car went through the window of the hair salon.

“Chris?” she called out in a shaky voice.

Looking at the wreckage, she found his camera in pieces. Her heart dropped at the site.

“CHRIS!”

Not too far away from her laid her ice cream cone. The sweet desert was splattered all over the pavement, surrounded by the shattered remains of her cone; a reflection of her shattered life.

Jessica looked back up at the landscape outside of her house and sighed. “Chris?” She hesitated.

“Jessica?” He was surprised to hear her voice. It, too, had been a while since he last heard it. He desperately wanted to hear more, proving that it was more than a memory. “What is it?”

“I... I don’t know if you can hear me, but… I wanted to thank you… For saving me.” A tear rolled down her cheek.

Finally letting go of his legs, Chris turned towards her, leaning in a little closer as he placed his finger tips on the edge of the porches rooftop. “I would do it again in a heartbeat.”

“I never had a boyfriend as perfect as you. I’m pretty sure my last two boyfriends would have run in the opposite direction.” She paused for a moment to think. “Then again, I think Shawn would have been the drunk behind that wheel…”

“That’s because Shawn was a brainless asshole. I still don’t get why you ever went out with that jerk.”

“I still don’t know why I ever went out with that jerk.”

“Hey, great minds think alike after all,” Chris smiled and then sighed. “If you knew what we just did, you would be smiling, too.”

Suddenly, Jessica changed her position. She turned, so she was facing straight out, where the view from her window was, unknowingly facing Chris. “I’m sorry, Chris.”

“For what?” he asked, bewildered.

“I shouldn’t have frozen up. I should have run. It’s my fault you’re gone.”

“Oh, Jess… Don’t do this. Please? You can’t blame yourself. You had a split second to make a choice. I’M the one who chose to run in front of that car to push you out of the way. Not you.”

More tears spilled down her small face. “I miss you so much. I wish you were here with me.”

“I am here, Jess.” Slowly, he reached his hand up and placed it down next to her side.

“I love you,” she croaked out, before breaking down into sobs, burying her face into her knees.

The site before him broke his heart and he couldn’t take it anymore. Very carefully, Chris lifted up his left hand and hesitantly wrapped it behind his girlfriend’s little body. Taking in a breath, he finally curled his fingers around her. He wanted to give her a hug, but this was the best he could do at that moment.

He hated being a giant, seeing her so small. He didn’t know why he was so huge now that he was dead. Maybe it was to protect her. But how could I when she can’t even see me? He sighed, hating that he was too big to hug her, even if she couldn’t feel him.

“I love you, too.”

As she sat there, Jessica suddenly felt overwhelmed with warmth. She couldn’t explain why, but she somehow felt close to Chris, as if he was holding her in his arms in comfort. She sighed in content, relishing the calm feeling that she had not felt in so long.

“Please come back to me,” she whispered, imagining that he was right there with her.

A light breeze blew the stray strands of hair out of her face as the warmth intensified to something more real. She looked up towards the sun, but it suddenly got too bright for her. She quickly blocked it out with her hand, closing her eyes. After a moment a shadow covered her as if a large cloud had covered the sun.

That’s impossible… There are no clouds in the sky.

Finally opening her eyes, Jessica’s mouth opened in awe. “Chris?” she sniffled, staring into his eyes.

Wondering what she was looking at, he turned his head. There was nothing in the sky. Not even a bird.

Realization dawned on him as he looked back down at her. “Jess… can you see me?” He waited with baited breath as they stared at one another. After what felt like an eternity, he finally got his answer.

“…Yes… I can see you, Chris.”

IF I do a sequel, it'll be as emotional as this one. I don't want to cheapen this story. But I think I have a pretty good idea of where to go next with these two.

And yes. Alex Pettyfer. And the girl is Jennifer Lawrence... And the background shot is mine. lol I actually took that pic thinking I might have a use for it in a manip one day. lol, I sort of make my own personal stock photos.

Yes, I love anything emotional, don't ask me why but I love crying.

What if they were in a movie together? That would be awesome! It's a really great shot!

Aww! Sometimes I get in a mood where I could use a good cry.

That would be awesome! But then I would totally be thinking about this story. lol

Thank you! I honestly took it with the intent of adding in a giant. Not even joking. LOL

lol, I do it all the time. There's a story I have in mind where literally 90% of Jensen's pics/videos inspire an idea. lol He'll post a video and I'll be like, "Welp! Guess I have a new idea now! Because this is all I'm thinking about!"

lol, anytime I go somewhere, I'm like, "I better take a pic of this. Never know when I'm gonna want to use this in a photo manip..."

Hahaha same! Whenever I watch Supernatural I get all these ideas that should be in the show!

That's  awesome! I love to lie on the floor and look around, it looks like everything is huge! Before I found GT I'd just lie on the floor for hours on end!

Aww, thank you for the lovely comment! Appreciate it.

That depends. I'm definitely open to it. Just need the right inspiration and to figure some things out. I might try to make another manip and see if that will draw some inspiration. But nothing solid has come to mind, just bits and pieces. We'll see, though.

THIS IS SO COOL!

The manip is cute, but it's the story that's really intriguing!! So he dies, ends up as some type of giant-sized sprit/ghost...shadows her, but she doesn't know it until she has a little emotional closure.

*river of feels*

So glad you liked it! It was kinda my first time writing anything close to that. And I wanted to do something different with the giant, by making him a ghost/spirit. Thought it would be more interesting this way with him being giant AND dead. Just that whole, "OMG, you're alive!" and then, "OMG, you're HUGE!"

I might do more of this some day, if I can find the right pics to make a sequel manip. Would be fun to see her adjust. Though, I do like this as is. *shrugs* Eh, we'll see.

Obsess-Confess In reply to PeaceJoJo [2013-11-17 20:30:45 +0000 UTC]

haha exactly! It would be interesting to explore whether other people can see him, or just her- which would make more sense.

Either way, it's a great little story.

Wellllllll, as a matter of fact, she is the only one who can see him. And I've been trying for the longest time to figure out a good reason for why he's huge. All I've got so far is a very very VERY vague idea. :/ But I'm definitely open to making more manips of these two, so maybe that'll help inspire an answer?.... Maybe.

No I know how frustrating it can be to find the right pics tired. That's one of the hardest parts in my opinion.

PeaceJoJo In reply to Obsess-Confess [2013-11-21 19:46:20 +0000 UTC]

It really is. When I was working on the Deanzilla manips, I would go hours just looking through everything Supernatural, just to find the right pics. Thankfully, it's to a point where if I'm looking for a specific pose, I KINDA remember specific scenes that might work. Harder with the newer seasons, though.

There was one pic that I searched all day for a background. After seeing this one item thousands of times over and over and over, I would close my eyes and I could see the image. Or I would type out some words and see the image, like the whole, "I see a turtle in the clouds!" kinda thing. After that manip, I knew what my limit was. lol And I try not to obsess THAT much. But yeah. I was probably close to needing professional help, lol.
