Ability - Pressure
His aura is overwhelming, causing fatigue and discomfort to those around him. If he tolerates your presence he will release some of the pressure but it is never really gone.
Ominous Wind | Type: Special | Stamina: 25
Out of combat it leaves all those who spend too much time around Exethanter with a general unease. If he likes you he will ease off of this effect. In combat he is surrounded by a swirling maelstrom of howling, anguished faces, and when his enemy is enveloped some of their life force is drained from them and added to the wind.
Curse | Type: Status | Stamina: 20
It has no real use out of combat. In combat he will slice at himself and flick his form onto his enemy. The essence will seep into their being and will corrupt them from the inside, causing them great pain.
Disable | Type: Status | Stamina: 10
Out of combat it can be used to stop students from doing disruptive actions, such as talking, throwing items, or eating. You can tell when he is using it as his eye will flare bright. It doesn’t make them forget what they were doing but rather puts a geas on them making it incredibly difficult to start up again until class has ended or the student is released. In combat it does much the same, blocking the last attacking move.
Blizzard | Type: Special | Stamina: 25
When angry, Exethanter can make the air around him painfully cold, the angrier he is, the more of a permafrost will spread out on windows and hard surfaces. In combat the effects are ramped up, a thick storm of ice and hail whips around him, battering any who get too close.
[Personality]
Exethanter Magnus is an old man in many regards even if no one knows what his age truly is. Content to do nothing more than read through ancient texts and perform strange and eldritch research in his office, he can get quite annoyed when interrupted. He rarely, if ever, raises his voice, preferring to allow his powerful magical aura to do the expression for him. This is, in fact, a good thing as it is impossible to see his face from under his cowl no matter how the light hits it and consequently the only way to read him is through body language or experiencing the pressure that surrounds him. He is married to the skitty Raine and is deeply in love with her even if, to the outside observer, it is hard to tell.
During class he is a stern teacher but happy to aid students with learning the intricacies of researching the world around them. Given the chance he would teach for at least three hours at a time as he feels that is the amount of time needed to get each new piece of information into his students’ heads.
[Background]
Only the most wordly and historically knowledgeable would know of where Exethanter had resided before he came to the academy; but those same people would be thoroughly confused as to when he got married, and why he married Raine.
He is a private, studious man who will do anything he can to not talk of his past so the only information to be squeezed from him or his wife is thus: he spent many years studying old tomes in some ‘abandoned’ library, keeping himself far away from the conflicts of the layman when Raine found him, stayed with him even when he tried repeatedly to make her leave, and then one thing lead to another, they got married, and ended up at the academy. If he is ever made to repeat that story it will usually be said in one breath and with much hand waving.
[Trivia]
He teaches ‘Mythography’ a class that looks at the old myths and how they influence the modern-day. It also touches on ‘magic’ and how it has evolved over time. It may be seen as a useless class but with knowledge of mythical history, one can predict how current events might play out.
When not teaching he can be found in a small office that is crowded with books or stalking the library.
His voice is much like Death’s youtu.be/4bu6LTiZZac?t=42
He has to try really hard to not sound too evil.
