Description

Recently I realized how there was only ever one perm task in our group
which was the Aura quest so I decided to create a new kind of collecting minigame

Before you ask, yes, everyone should be able to make one!
Please just finish reading this post before you ask any questions
Please also keep in mind that this species is still a wip and will be developed
further in the next 1-2 months!

Basic Info

A Berrykin is an umbrella term used to cover over a hundred species. They're a kind companion species for Charminis that can be tamed/hatched, trained and then used to battle! Berrykins can be of any color or have any patterns and accessories, so long as the basic traits mentioned above are kept! There will also be a quest coming out soon that can allow Charminis to link to their Berrykins

How to Obtain

The first way is, you can make your own Berrykin by obtain an egg from the Starberry Market for 65 Starberries, following the design rules above for your chosen species and then replying to this comment comments.deviantart.com/1/7289…

And if you're struggling to draw the anatomy of your chosen kin, or is just lazy af like me feel free to use these basic lines!
(since i use thick lines, my style will look really bad unless you color the lineart btw)
The second way you can get one is through flatsales by me or someone else (still need to find a person to do it with me so hmu)
The third way is through giveaways and events! there will be event only Berrykins in the future and we're also likely to giveaways and treasure hunts for eggs on our discord server!

Berrykins, be it myos or pre-mades, will also be uploaded to the new subspecies masterlist !
as a small reminder, please do not use the anymore!

Battling

Only Charminis linked with their Berrykins (can be done at the Companion Centre )can battle, but to do this, you must first complete the trainer's quest! (for their trainers badge)! otherwise they will not be eligible to be linked to their Berrykin or to battle! (as a reminder this quest is still in development but you're still welcome to make one!)
That being said tho, a person can still own a linkless Berrykin, just for fun

Combat Mechanics

For those of you, who have read this far, I congratulate you so now lets talk about the fun part- combat skills
Right now there are 7 standard berrykins available but these, along with all future berrykins will fall under 3 classes
Mages, Bruisers and Hybrids.
Mages specialize in using magic powers to battle - like the ones under the "magic" section in Charminis - World Overview
Bruisers specialize in using their physical and chemical characteristics/traits eg. horns/pincers/teeth/spikes/acid etc. to battle!
Hybrids don't specialize and can use both magic and their traits to deal damage (but can only be average at both)

Current Species (will add more in future)

Turtledrake | Mage Class | Prime Power: Shoots scalding hot water | Sec: Generates steam for camouflage

Zipzap | Hybrid Class | Prime Power: Antennas can jab and electrify upon contact | Sec: Sharp claws used for scratching

Lunapix | Mage Class | Prime Power: Can shoot psychic rays from head diamond | Sec: Telekinesis powers used to lift light objects

Kleptosaur | Bruiser Class Prime Power: Spiky tail used for physical combat | Sec: Spikes can shoot from tail for long-ranged attacks

Sproutpuff | Mage Class | Prime Power: Can shoot a toxic fume | Sec: Levitation allows easy maneuverability + high evasion

Goopbun | Bruiser Class | Prime Power: Can charge at opponents with horn | Sec: Soft body and hard shell can block most attacks | See - bokunoheroacademia.wikia.com/w…

Uchapik | Hybrid Class | Prime Power: Shoots scalding hot water | Sec: Can shoot blasts of water!

Closing Notes

If you are unable to afford an egg you can still buy one for 6.5 or 650 points! (simply note me with the one you want!)

Ik some people might still not be convinced that this will be something that they'll be into but trust me i have a ton of ideas planned for them in the future! I'd love to host tournaments and tasks involving Berrykins! I will also make more bases of them (for myos) and I might even open customs! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!
