Description
After Constantine died in the war, his fellow soldier, Vova Mikhaylov, being reminded of his son, Alexi whilst looking at the boy, took Sergei in and fostered him.
Sadly, they weren’t as inseparable as Sergei and Constantine were, because Vova, being a very fearful man behind his “tough, embittered soldier” facade, was afraid of either failing Sergei, or harming him. However, he was also afraid of Sergei himself, due to the boy’s rather…unique powers. Vova, in his fear, would often belittle the boy, nicknaming him a “freak of nature” and a “mutant”, despite having a similar link to the boy’s powers.
Despite Vova being occasionally nasty to Sergei, the two did have their moments, and it could still count as enough to say they loved each other. Vova would protect Sergei, and Sergei would often worry of losing Vova like he lost so many others. Sadly, this happened, because when Vova found out about the death of his biological son, he couldn’t take the guilt of not being there, and killed himself early one morning, via poisoning. Sergei found his body, and held a bit of a grudge for Vova dying when he needed him the most.
little did either of them know that Sergei and Vova were connected much closer than just a foster family.
