It's worth the read, even though it's so different it adds a whole new perspective to every character, and goes into more depth. It's even more fun when you imagine you're hearing the voices from the movie.

This is my favorite Ghibli movie everr. Actually, I think I watched it the most out of all of them like repeatedly day after day*_*;
my second would be Spirited Away (I really like the plots in Howl's Moving Castle and in Spirited Away) and Totoro is a classic (i mainly just love the characters) so it's an automatic favorite. <3

I think I have to admit, that I love spirited away a LIIIITTLE bit more... but howls castle is absolutely the high and mighty second place

Yeah, I understand since Spirited away is a bit more "full" with something that has a real story-like component with a goal fulfilled at the end. While Howl's Moving Castle is more like the adventure along the way with a lesson at the end thing. But it's really hard to choose between them. xD
I haven't really loved the recent Ghibli movies though, since Ponyo was just plain cute, and Arietty is nice but not 100% my taste. The quality of the animation was really nice though.
