Horse Gap encampment.

I am used to calling such places "saddles". In Georgia, at least, the term is "gap", the low spot between hills where the land rises in two directions and falls off in the other two. Either way it meant I had finished on descent and was about to start back climbing again. As the climb in question was Sassafras Mountain I decided this would be a good place to set up camp for the night. A few other folks had the same idea. After we got the tents set up, I took a photograph up through the gap toward the sun and clouds to our west, then another of the encampment.
