Description Well, I tried to make something interesting and unique, and of course it didn't come out the way I wanted. I also don't have a scanner so I had to take a picture of it.

I ended up planning it out on grid paper, transferring it to cardstock. Then I shaded it with watercolor pencils, then painted it (which I haven't messed with watercolors in AGES, let alone ever worked with watercolor pencils). Then I worked on the blacks, then filled in the middle with a map portion.

It didn't come out like I'd like, but it's still something interesting.

This is for the *TheKnotters contest!

Thank you very much! Yeah, I've been waiting for it to come back up too. What's funny is my boyfriend was just remarking a few weeks ago about whether or not I still like Celtic knotwork. I was like, "Of course I do!"

Turns out, he bought me an earring, necklace, and bracelet silver set made of knotwork. (he gave it to me early!)

And then the club came back up. It's weird. Is it coincidence? Or what? Maybe it's a sign for me to start drawing knotwork again

I believe all things happen for a reason. The coincidences definatley seem to be pointing in that direction, for that reason alone I think you should start drawing knotwork again

I really like that you put the map in the middle instead of the other way around

Well thank you! I thought that the idea would be different, which is what I was going for.

I think it came out pretty spiffy myself. It may not win the contest, but it'll be sure to get some attention.

Thank you! It might not have come out how I wanted it, but I still think it's nice too.

I like the concept. It's different from traditional Celtic art, yet it still follows the rules of knotting. It's like the history and modernity combined. And that map is cherry and icing on top!

Thank you very much! I like how you say it's a mesh of history and modernity, that sounds so impressive.

And so impressive it looks!
Seriously, I've noticed it before in your works. They have very original form, keeping the Celtic spirit at the same time. I like how you use traditional pattern of knot to create your own designs.

I hope that I can learn how to do more intricate knots. I've just really been having a hard time keeping myself in practice with drawing. It tends to come in spurts. I guess if I can get more active again then my skill would improve.

I really appreciate your comment. It's very positive and encouraging! Thank you so much

That's really cool! I love the colors, the watercolor pencils turned out nicely. The map in the middle is a nice touch. X3

Thank you! I thought it turned out fine in the end, just not what I had in my head.
