another one of expressions using inanimate objects... luv the style and ofcourse the b&w adds a lot to it!!
great shot!!

helloitsjanet [2004-02-17 15:10:09 +0000 UTC]

Aww, sweetly dedicated.

Your b/w work never ceases to amaze me. This is focussed perfectly, the subject matter is unconventional... street photography at it's quirkiest yet also extremely emotive. It begs a chain of questions. Where's the owner? How old is this instrument? Has it been there for ages? What type of music did it play? I'd put my money on Jazz.

That's what a photograph should be. A story. You've managed that totally.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

pecchio In reply to helloitsjanet [2004-02-17 18:08:49 +0000 UTC]

and you'd win, they played Charleston and swing, I love street musicians, they give to the cicty center a so mgical atmosphere

Thanks for all your comments, you know I appreciate them, but I wanted to tell it to you again

anjules [2004-02-17 06:23:25 +0000 UTC]

Love this one Tommy. The only thing I would change is the woman's white jacket, cos it's a little distracting from the top of the (insert name of instrument here) ... but you can't exactly run up to a stranger and ask them to take their jacket off now can you...

Otherwise, I think it's fantastic, and the message you provide is superb.

pecchio In reply to anjules [2004-02-17 12:07:56 +0000 UTC]

I waited for a while before taking this, the point was that there was the musicians (the ones in "Express Yourself" picture) that were waiting for me to start the exhibition, so I had to take this, I had not the time to go and ask, otherwise I should have done it

BTW thanks for ALL your comments, you know I really appreciated them (as I appreciate the person the gave them)

An excellent candid shot. Wonderful how you took a street scene and squeezed it into a photograph with such emotion. Great work.

What a beautiful image. The mood is so sombre, yet full of hope. Great use of shallow dof, great composition. Absolutely gorgeous.

Aww don't be silly.
I still have lots of yours to comment I think, trying to clear some of my watch every day but they just keep on coming... Will get more up to speed at the end of this week hopefully.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

pecchio In reply to mnoo [2004-02-17 12:01:37 +0000 UTC]

yeah deviants are over-producing in these days.... I just can't keep the message center "tidy".... I'm also thinking to remove someone from my watchlist, but the choice is so hard

T.

mnoo In reply to pecchio [2004-02-17 12:19:53 +0000 UTC]

Oh I know. I did just yank two that kept on submitting more than 6 a day. Madness... I'm usually allright when I'm working from home and can comment on stuff once in a while during the day, but when I'm in the office and deviations build up for a week, it's just a nightmare...

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

pecchio In reply to mnoo [2004-02-17 13:18:10 +0000 UTC]

what a scary thought....
If I don't check them daily they build up so fast....
I've always wondered if the deviants that upload so many pictures have a " real life" do they really expect to receive comments for every picture they upload?
I think it's just a waste of time and I have to admit that now I check how many deviations they upload per day before watching them

I know my friend, but every word uses only a handfull of letters and just one letter doesn't mean much but placed in the right order they can touch the soul.
But I know you and I know some of your thoughts, thank you for them

hmm work is good, but it dont like b&w photos ... also ... i think that it could look better, if this man of the left ... emmm... he should go away

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

pecchio In reply to JuliaDunin [2004-02-13 09:48:20 +0000 UTC]

hopefully I'm going to take some color picture tomorrow, the weather has been awful in these days, everything was gray, so I decided to try b/w photography, I admit I loved it, but now I need some colors again

I know the man is simply "out of place" but the cello was of a few street artist that were about to begin the show, so I couldn't wait any more

BTW it's nice to hear you again my friend
