Description Hoping for the dawn is never in vain

---------------------

More or less equal to [link] of

I just wanted to practicing colors and when I started I was very uncreative and it was very very late so after I loved that piece of her so much I tried to do a familiar picture.

And after all I see some meaning in it. I'm satisfied~

I think this picture represents the owl wants to fly away into the dawn but can't becuase he has jesses on. ( the straps on the legs)

Yep, sorry, can't critique because I don't get enough pay for a membership.

Anyways, i think that there is a lot of things going on at once within this drawing, in the best way possible. The negative space is taken advantage of, giving it a nice, open feel to it, like it wants to take to the skies. It was a good call to use some interference in the background, and the feeling of the branch fading in the background establishes a feeling of longing. Plus, the shading's just beautiful.

For the negative side, it's a little subtle. Firstly, the right wing seems to be a lot lower than the left wing, like it's hanging off, even though you can tell the wing is attached. The negative space is so large, that it's difficult to see on most computer screens (mine is 1024x768) and makes a big need for a lot of scrolling. Lastly, I know this is fairly subjective, but the blackness on the dark side is slightly awkward. It might help to put in some ambient lighting, but it might not be worth it. (I didn't make the art, it might have looked bad with ambient lighting)

Ah yeah I guessed the right wing will be a little problem. I hope to fix it later in any way. luckily changing digital things is easier than traditional x)

hm and I'll try the ambient light too. just have no idea when I get the mood to sit on this piece again x,x

thanks for the helpful critique. I'm always happy about reasonable critique ^^

well, thanks. anyways, Godspeed. you're work is really good, it's just a matter of spreading it around. A lot of artists are like that.

If I'm looking at the revised version, then yes, it does help it out. Other than that, not much to say.
