This is for contest. I wasn't going to enter, until I realized that there was only 1 entry so far. I chose prompt #1 as the animated series what what started my interest in the X-men in general and Rogue and Gambit in particular.

This prompt is pulled from Earth-92131 A.K.A. the 90's animated "X-Men" series. If you choose this prompt, your entry must be similar to the animated style of this series!

“And this,” Rogue said as she led her young group of mutants into a control room, “is where the X-Men train. It is a fully-automated audio-visual simulation room that is programmed to help them hone their skills as both a mutant and hand-to-hand combat.”

“The Danger Room!” one young mutant piped.

“Very good, Santo. Yes, the Danger Room is only for the use of-“

“Oh, who’s that?!” Tabitha asked, running to the observation windows and peeking out into the Danger Room where a young man was running and bashing snaky robot arms and slicing the slithering coils around his ankles with a furious pink flash.

“That is our resident demolitions specialist, Gambit.” Rogue walked over to the window and pressed the intercom. “This room is supposed to be cleared today, Remy” she chided as she typed in the code to end his simulation. “I’m taking the new students on a tour of their training facilities. Didn’t you get the memo?”

The brunette man glanced up to the window and flashed a smile. “Apologies, cherie.” He ran his fingers through his hair. “I believe I did not.” He grinned sheepishly and leaned against his bo staff, winking at the group.
The young female students swooned, causing Rogue to roll her eyes.

“Cyclops sent it out yesterday.”

“I never got it.”

“He taped it to your door.”

“Is that what that was? I thought it was another one of your heartsick love letters, begging me to come up to your room and-“

“Clear outta here now, Cajun! Or so help me I’ll come down there and…”

“Is that actually a threat, mon chere? You know I always love your company.”

Rogue growled in annoyance as her charges began to snicker around her. He had planned this. He knew about her tour. He was lying, she just knew it.
But instead of getting angry, Rogue had an idea.
She was going to turn the tables on him.
“All right, then. Be right down, sugar.”

If he was surprised at her response, he didn’t let it show. Remy simply smiled ear to ear and twirled his bo staff between his fingers.

“Show off.” She shut off the intercom and turned back to the students. “Would you kids like a little demonstration of how the Danger Room works?”

Of course, they all cheered in excitement. “Stay right here. If any of you touches anything, you’re next training session will be with Wolverine.”

With that, she slipped out of the control room and onto the simulation deck.
