Description
This is probably my most meaningful work, as it was made a gift for someone who was very, very dear to me. Someone who meant the world at the time and for who i could do no less than my absolute best. I've tried to paint something that could, well, not only please but show all the effort and feelings I've put into it. I tried to put into a single image the characters that were most iconic to said person, as to symbolize her love for Studio Ghibli's many wonderful pictures, there's the Moving Castle, Haku, the Scarecrow Prince and Totoro, even though they are all unfinished. I also tried to make a very pleasant, peaceful picture, my objective with this was to make something easy on the eyes and, possibly, get a smile out of her.

By now I can see a million mistakes in the picture but when I was making this I tried my best to do so with the mind at ease and sincere smile on my face, by then the times were a bit rough and "happy" was but a distant dream, still, whenever I worked at this I couldn't feel anything if not the anxiety of finishing it and the calm, truthful joy.

At the time, around... October 10th, 2012, this took me around 30 hours or so, since I was detailing every single bit to the best of my capability (which is an unnecessary practice, always optimize your time and your effort! ) but since there was a lot in the table and painting this was doing so good to my health, it wasn't a nuisance of any kind. I suppose if I did it today it would turn out a bit better, but it would be miles away from having the same motivation I had in the past.

In it's current state it turned out to be one of the few of my paintings that i truly adore. I don't want to sound cocky or anything like it but it is a personal milestone of persistence and hard work, even if sometimes it brings out some sad, sad memories.
It being so, i've got no wish to actually finish this piece, since I've lost the original .psd file and quite frankly, the motivation to do so, I guess... The meaning it once had wouldn't be the same today, sorry xP

And I'd like to thank any and all of you who take your time to read this text or to look at this image, you who favorite one or any of my drawings, it's exactly your action that motivates me to keep drawing and striving to always get better and better, strive to be able to create pieces capable of pleasing the eyes, the mind and the heart
