It's a shame that the one character who also showed mercy in the face of death, was the one character you could not TRULY save. This image has certainly captured that sense of him being trapped, even if you didn't mean for it toΒ Β

Frisk saved him.Β The game implies this.Β Frisk is the one in control guiding the player in the true canon pacifist route.Β He's able to reset time, defy death, and create wishes and makes dreams come true through Determination (The ability to defy and change fate) and he "Realizes there's still someone else who needs to be saved".Β All of this implies that Frisk resets (True) to find a way to save Asriel as well.
