No, when the story starts out and when he was a little kid his mother had custody over him, she kept him trapped in a hidden room, only books and a pet or two for company. Eventually when Paris is about 16 she decides that he could be of use to him, and she freed him, giving him the mission to go t her enemies' apprentices, a group of teenagers around his age, and charm their leader to his mother's side, so that his mother could use her body for her own (his mother is a powerful sorcereress, but every few decade or so she needs to steal a new body to stay young). Unfortunately for his mother, Paris begins to feel more at home with their enemies (who are the good guys, they're a sort of vigilante police team with angelic powers named the Angels.) and actually falls in love with the girl he's supposed to seduce...only catch is the girl is in a happy relationship with someone else, who hates him. He fights for the other side after that, even aiding in the revolution against his mother, not only with the aid of the Angels but Caleb decides to help as well, mostly because he wants to get rid of his ex-wife. By the end of their struggle, it turns out that Paris cannot stay with the Angels as planned and must go back wiht Caleb to the Bohemian Court. After a teary goodbye to the Angel's leader, he disappears to the Bohemian Court, never to be seen by the Angelics again. Decades later, after Paris has become at home at the Court, a young woman around his physical age appears. This young woman is discovered to be a fragment of the girl Paris once loved's personality that broke free of her mind.
