A surprising addition to the game, Anankos made one hell of a splash when he was first introduced alongside Chrom and Maria. I'm still 90% certain he was pushed out because IS was positive Summer Edelgard was going to win AHR, and the immediately wanted something to counter her. That didn't turn out the way they planned, but Anankos is still one hell of a unit, even if he doesn't have much of a character
