Description A little watercolour sketch of my roleplay character, Horkna of the Orca Clan. He's quite old since I made him, for no specific RP but around 2007…? He was used for one, but that never picked up for me so I have another vague plot for him. There's a certain attraction with the prehistoric furs and clothes they wear that I find myself returning time and time again to Ancient Darkness character designs. But canon characters are much harder to do, or I'm just lazy.

Pencil line art with watercolour.
Edited in Photoshop later with a background texture.

I never tied the two together o.O It's interesting you thought that, I obviously just resembled it without knowing so. Thanks

Thanks! I'm quite pleased with this one, it kinda got me motivated to do more of my characters properly

I like his design, although his trousers look a little bit... modern for a Stone Age hunter. You did a good job on his tunic, though - it really looks like fur. Is that a hair clip he's got in his mouth?

That's 'cause I like the baggy part! I couldn't help myself, and they're fun to draw. The creases especially are the reason I like the slightly baggy ones. The top is based around a Ringed Seal fur, but I wasn't confident enough to really go for the patterns once I'd added the wrinkles in the clothes. Yet to learn the technique of having patterns and shadows coexist…
It looked more like what it was supposed to be before I coloured it in…it's supposedly a piece of thread - a hairband. Tied in a circle to keep his long hair out of his eyes; now it looks like a modern-day hair grip

You're right, those trousers are fun to draw. XD I was just thinking that a couple of visible seams would make them look more... dunno if 'primitive's quite the right word.

Yeah, thread would make a lot more sense...

That's true, thanks for the idea. This one was accidental so I didn't plan out his clothing beforehand, so adding some subtle seams and patches would maybe give it an older feel. I also love the fringing on the edges of clothes... Like the Native American people often do with their garments.

Haha, I hope it does!

Wow thank you! How quick was that? Imagine the response if it was a canon character
