the sea, oh the glimmers..it wraps around, all over;
it keeps me warm,
keeps me safe.
i float freely.
thinking of nothing
at all.
i can't be hurt, and
i cannot fall.
i look to the south:
bright, pastel flowers i see.
and to the north and east:
close-knit villages,
smiling faces.
but what gloom is in the west?
what lurks there, ready
to smother the bliss?
a storm, heavy with
dreary drops of rain
and they begin to
fall
fall
fall...
pushing me further
down under the sea;
making it harder to breathe.
i choke on what was
once my friend.
it gets harder to see
and i keep
falling
falling
falling...
i can't see.
the dark is so
oppressive!
i come up out
of a hole
in the ground that is checkered
black, white, black,
white..
stand in the neutral,
gray is in the middle.
the turning point of
black, white, black,
white..
to my left is the brilliance
of happiness unbound.
turning around endlessly
in fields of green grass so tall
above me.
everything here is mine
no fights, no fear.
almost nothing worth
living for..
i don't want this,
and i slide back into the gray
decisions of consequences of
white, black, white,
black..
where should i go from here?
my other option of the
white, black, white,
black..
to my right, a straight drop-off.
wall-like in appearance,
and dark.
menacingly lying in wait,
for me..
but it's so enticing!
all i have to do
is take a single step off
the precipice
and
fall
fall
fall..
Forever.
