Description it makes as much sense
as a bird afraid of heights.
it makes as much sense
as a fish allergic to water.

so, I hereby state that it
makes no such sense at all!
completely and absolutely
senseless and in all ways insane!

that one thing alone could be
oh so very confusing and
thought-muddling yet how attractive
to the eye.. a magnet for trouble, or joy?

love it if you want, but beware.

no idea is yet formed to be applied
to this breath-taking mystery,
this horrendous curse that strangely,
we will hold fast to, to the end of our days.

you can talk to it, laugh with it, or at it
but it makes you warily keep distance.
you can cry to it, or plead with it
but it stand firm as a rock, unchanged.

you can tease it and make fun of it,
but be ready to jump out of reach.
you can dance with it, and give it your heart,
but you will be damaged forever.

love it if you want, but beware.

a thought could turn into a shameful reprimand,
a tentative choice can be somewhat dangerous,
a decision can be a permanent scar upon you,
a heart thrown in can be downright perilous.

this one thing alone that can
confuse you to the ends of the earth,
yet you will cling to it like life itself,
swearing to never let go of it.

it will hate you for it. oh
it will hate you always for it.
if not approached with care,
you could break it into a million pieces.

love it if you want, but beware.

it's a resistance, a razorblade,
a flood, a never-ending hunger,
a rose, a crazy little thing.
our singular subject has so many names.

ha! you aren't even asked politely...
"would you like to bear this thing?
we promise that you'll love it!" they never
fail to impress your mind... or be underhanded.

it's too late for you now, so caught up.
you know it's killing you softly, and
you hate it like nothing else before,
but you would die for it in an instant.

...love it if you really want to, but... beware...
