The accuracy of the colour, contrast and textures in this piece are impeccable! This looks wonderful!
I would like to know, though, does the type of paper you use have a great impact on drawing? I seem to get a grainy texture that only gets heightened in scans with the cartridge paper i use.

Thank you! And yes, the paper is probably THE most important choice in a drawing. It will dictate the overall texture of the picture, especially if you are scanning it for a digital file. I started to take pictures with my iPhone after the first few I scanned because I didn't like the effect it was giving. I'm trying to stay as true to the drawing as possible. Strathmore sells a smooth paper that has been great for both scanning and pictures. The BIC lighter, for instance, was drawn on Target brand Up&Up paper and you can see the effect the scanner had on it. I scanned and photographed 5 different types of paper before finally settling on Strathmore smooth paper for my DA pics.

Thanks, for the advice, I guess I better pay more attention to the media I'm using before I dump 10-15 hours into a project haha. Planning goes a long way ^-^

Horrible? That's actually really good! Use smoother paper and a premium art marker for the base then build the color pencils over that base....you'll be surprised what an effect it has.....watch MarcelloBarenghi.deviantart.com on You Tube, he's the worlds best illustrator, period. He's my inspiration for pushing my limits and you will become addicted to his videos.
