"Well, Elder Sister's gone surfing in shipwreck cove, and Miss Lyta went to see what that strange glow was by the old abandoned Soyuz capsule, so I guess we'll just hang out here by these tiki heads. Sure feels like we're being watched..."Because she won the poll, Akiko's summer takes a turn for the haunted, this time by spooky possessed tikis. As far as I know that's not a real thing in any Polynesian culture, but it was the basis for an episode of Scooby Doo (where it was just the cover for a real estate scam, as usual). There are other versions of this picture (and you know what that means...) I'll post them when I get home from work Monday.
You may notice Akiko's island girl outfit and the tiki heads are somewhat familiar; both have appeared in other pictures here. Also, this is one of the rare occasions where she has let her hair down.

I just keep thinking of the song the robot parrots sing at the Tiki Room in Disneyland. And I haven't been to Disneyland for a good fifteen years or so. That's how insidious that song is.

I was thinking about it today, and it's actually been more than 20 years since I heard it last, and I can still remember it.
The Tiki Room apparently still exists, even though it's basically just singing animatronic parrots. It was the most pointless attraction, except for being air conditioned. In fact it's pretty much just this for 15 minutes - www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxJ4PQ… (turn the sound down, unless you want it stuck in your head for the next two decades.)

Yeah I made it just 30 seconds before turning that off. I thinking having to endure that for 15 minutes is akin to some kind of torture. But like you said it's air conditioned so they know they got you. Hopefully you can get it out of your head. Just try to think of some other ear worm that you actually like.
Actually I did that the other week when I kept having Miley Cyrus' "We Won't Stop" song going through my head. I told my brain to switch to something, ANYTHING, else. That's when the Sailor Moon theme popped into my head. Which was still better...

It feels like the kind of thing that's been there since the beginning, when all that robot puppet technology was new and super impressive. Since it's not a ride it's something you can do once the kids get tired, I guess.
I think I'd take the Tiki Room over Miley Cyrus... that's one of those songs that's always playing somewhere nearby. The good news is that it will, at some point, vanish suddenly. The bad news is that it will be replaced with something equivalent.

Yeah that's probably what it was. A relic from the early days that serves no real purpose other than to be a relic from the early days. But you know if they tried to get rid of it someone would throw a bitch fit.

Is "Elder Sister" a term used by Akiko or is she and Miyuki both sisters?

It's the term of address the ninja use for one another, as being members of same ninja order they're all sworn brothers and sisters. It's something you see in Chinese martial arts stories a lot (in both Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the Water Margin) - I don't know that it's quite as usual in Japanese, but the hierarchical address based on age/seniority certainly exists. They're not actually related (they have different last names, in fact).
Incidentally, they all have a combination ecclesiastical/military rank or specialty as well (in the Oracle Sword we've met the Abbot General and Brother Armorer) although for the foot soldier ninja it hasn't really come up. I guess following that logic Miyuki would be "Sister Kenjutsuka" (swordsperson) and Akiko would be "Sister Kyudoka" or maybe "Initiate Kyudoka" (archer). As a fictional but hopefully real sounding hierarchy, it's still a work in progress.
