Description The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman is amazingly awesome, and you should read it. It is very much a children's book, but one adults can enjoy (about the level of the second or third Harry Potter, I'd say)

Anyway, a picture of Bod, the main character, and his guardian Silas. Turpentine wash with colored pencil and ink.

I absolutely love this.
The Graveyard Book gives me some weird feeling I had in a dream. I don't know how to explain, but it's a great book.
I wish Bod had hugged Silas in the end though :/

Nice work

ME TOO about the hugging thing.

A lot of Neil Gaiman's work I think has that quality...almost like you remember it instead of read it.

That's why he's my favorite author!

But the ending of The Graveyard Book still has a lot of mysteries... Who exactly is the lady in the grey? Why did the dead and the people danced together, what caused it? Why was Silas disappointed? ://

Aww, Silas! Look at that muted care in his eyes.

I have heard buckets about this books and I will now read it. Your art has compelled me.

I absolutely love the contrast presented by Silas. the rest of the peice's gentle color, and then him just as blackness with such pale skin and dead eyes draws the eye to him, while Bod's general warm coloring draws attention from the more grey background around him, in addition to making him appear full of life next to the more deathly looking Silas.

I love love love the color presented by the sky, and the blending is great, but in some palces (like around Silas and about in the middle of the piece) the strokes are a little wonky, which is a bit distracting. ...Though other than that I have no concrit to offer, because this is fabulous.

I really like Silas' hair and face. And the gravestone Bod is sitting on. And the lighting on the angel shadow in the background. <3

It SOOO awesome. Very cute (but like...well written cute?)

I know, the idea of the sky I love, and it works about 85% but my turpentie just wasn't blending the strokes out as much as I'd hope (And of course, shot gun trigger me had been like "LOL it doesn't matter what my strokes look like, the turpentine will blend them all out!") I tried a bit to fix them on the computer, but everything was looking very..."Terra touched this up on the computer!"
