💙 Thyroid Blues 💙

I drew this piece for everyone who is struggling with thyroid issues. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease about 2 years ago. It's an autoimmune disease where my body attacks my thyroid causing hypothyroidism. I also have family with thyroid issues. The thyroid is a gland in your neck shaped like a butterfly that controls a lot of how your body functions. Fatigue, depression, constipation, brain fog, dry scalp are some of the symptoms. It's hard to do anything, especially work out, when you feel like energy is always being sucked out from your body. Even with it being controlled with meds this doesn't take care of all the symptoms. There are days I just don't want to do anything and want to cry for no reason. Other days I have more motivation and feel ok. It's a roller coaster of hormones. I have to have alarms set and write things down or I'll forget. Focusing seems harder some days. Trying to lose weight seems impossible. No matter how crappy I feel though I wont give up and let this disease take over my life. I will keep taking it one day at a time and strive toward feeling happy and healthy. To all those affected by this or an autoimmune disease you can do anything and you're not alone.
