Description
Cyrano de Bergerac is a master swordsman, soldier and poet, as well as fiercely independent and prideful. He is also a toucan with a strikingly large beak, is in love with the beautiful and intelligent Roxane, a cat. However, despite Cyrano's bravery, wit and panache, he is afraid to express his feelings to Roxane for fear she will be repulsed by his looks. Instead, he woos Roxane under the mask of Christian, a handsome but slightly stupid lion. He writes Roxane love letters under Christian's name, even going so far as to tell Christian what to say to her. Roxane falls in love with Christian, and Cyrano stays her loyal friend.
Cyrano and Christian are both cadets in the Gascon Guard. They are eventually deployed to lay siege on Arras. Cyrano continues to write love letters to Roxane for Christian, sneaking past enemy lines every morning to send them to her. Roxane comes to the war front, deeply moved by Christian's (Cyrano's) letters. Roxane admits she would love Christian even if he were ugly. Christian tells Cyrano this, and Cyrano admits he loves Roxane. Just as he is about to tell her, they are called to the front lines and Christian is killed.
I won't spoil the ending for anyone who doesn't know. If you want to know how it ends, just look up a synopsis.

Anyways, these are some concept drawings. I definitely hope to do more with this project.
