Description "To the German Commander.

NUTS!

The American Commander."

- General Anthony Clement McAuliffe

The Battle of the Bulge, also known as the Ardennes Offensive, was the largest battle fought on the Western Front in Europe during World War II; it is also the largest battle ever fought by the United States Army.

The German push toward the Meuse River partially hinged on the capture of Bastogne, a small Belgian town that served as a vital road junction. The area was the scene of frantic fighting during the first few days of the battle, and by December 21, German forces had encircled town and pinned the U.S. 101st Airborne Division and others inside. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the town’s defenders responded to the siege with cheery defiance.

Along with facing down enemy gunfire and shelling, troops at the Battle of the Bulge also had to contend with the punishing climate of the Ardennes. The Nazis held off on their offensive until dense fog and snow arrived and grounded the Allies’ superior air support, leaving both sides to grapple with near-Arctic conditions.

The Third Reich’s much-feared Panzers drank gas, and by late-1944, the flagging German war machine was having difficulties scrounging enough fuel to keep them running. The Nazis set aside nearly 5 million gallons for the Battle of the Bulge, yet once combat operations began, poor road conditions and logistical missteps ensured that much of the fuel never reached those who needed it.

The Ardennes Offensive was a massive gamble on the part of German dictator Adolf Hitler, one that he lost badly. After this battle, the German never went on the offensive ever again.

“They’ve got us surrounded—the poor bastards!”

The end of the year is here and I'll be doing things differently next year and will be launching patreon. Also, remind me not to do any more art with snow again next time I thought It's a good idea. On another note, next art will probably have nothing to do with MHT and for the next few months.

Special thanks to Cloud Roller on Furry Amino who let me have his fursona as a part of this art.

I use CLIP Studio Paint EX for all my artwork

"United in this determination and with unshakable faith in the cause for which we fight, we will, with God's help, go forward to our greatest victory."

I noticed how the Front sights for the M1 Garand Model used in World War 2 was incredibly small. I don't know how you peep through that tiny hole. Either you put your eyeball closer to it, which could probably, when fired, the recoil can just make the front sights  ** S M A C C ** You in the cheekbone and eye. Welp, Soldiers are creative ay?

It's just perspective and scale thing. My characters' head and facial features are usually bigger than real human's head so it gave the illusion of the sight being so close to the eyes

"If we see that the Germans begin to win, we ought to help Russia, if Russia begin to prevail , we should help Germany, and let them kill each other as many as possible" - Harry Truman.

Maybe it's good that the US was in a hurry to have time to capture Berlin before the Soviets, to assign the victory and all the accolades. Ironically, Truman's ego helped to our boys in their journey through Eastern Europe.

amazing work recreating a historic moment for our brave men and women during the Battle of the Bulge. Surrounded and outnumbered, the famed Screaming Eagles held their ground amid the bitter cold to keep the Germans at bay (yet at the same time the American's couldn't advance either so it was much of a stalemate). Luckily, Lieutenant General George Patton and his Third Army arrived to "save" them, albeit the 101st said they didn't need saving.

One thing I wanted to point out, I read (I could be wrong) that the 101st Airborne ripped off their Screaming Eagles patches to prevent the German from knowing who they were fighting. I could be wrong though.

Probably not since you can still tell that they are with the 101st by looking at their helmet's marking. They are unique to the 101st.

Right, like the card symbols, spades, diamonds, hearts, cloves. The 101st still does that today. It's a shame that today the 101st isn't a para-infantry unit anymore, they're an air-assault unit. Still, that's badass!

Got to hand it to the screaming eagles. able to hold bastogne, outnumbered, outgunned and surrounded and they held out.

Most games nowadays fail to capture ww2 authenticity, most accuracy belongs to the older games.

I get some of my history (ww2 and genera) from listening to Sabaton now.

It screwed up historical informations and spread wrong information about the war and now kids like you and many other now considered those inaccuracy facts. So yeah fuck that game.

Agreed, CODWW2 is an atrocious piece of shit that completely disrespects history and throws and historical accuracy out of the window.

Do you remember that part in World War 2 where a couple of American soldiers mowed down a dozen German Soldiers with Machine Guns while they are on the back of a speed jeep as they drove past them? Yea, me neither.

It is like they have to check these scenes off the list, just because old COD games had those scenes, so this game must have those turret sections

They could have tried to be authentic about it but they don't because they are way too lazy and only focus on making money. Activision had never cared about historical accuracy. no one has.

One of the points, why CoDWW2 is stupid and can go fuck itself, is that they name the game WW2 when they only portray on front and 2 years of 6 years long war around the globe. Should have just called the game Western front or Normandy.

Have they ever do that tho? They have never made a singleplayer DLC for any CoD games. Because "People doesn't like singleplayer games anymore" bullshit. So don't put your hopes up.
