What If...¿Grimer and Muk are not mutated sludge by toxic waste or the x rays from the moon?what if it was a diferent pokemon before that?Here my answer,a kind of salamander,probably this pokemon lived in water streams,and the toxic waste specially affected her population ,transforming it in what we know as Grimer.

That's a good concept. My headcanon is that Grimer and Muk are frog pokemon whose skin secrets alot of mucus and venom. But when toxic waste gets into their slime, they become irritated and go into clean water to try to wash it out.
