Audie Murphy was born near Greenville, TX on June 20, 1925 to sharecroppers. He would grow up to be the most decorated US soldier of WWII, being awarded 33 honors including the Medal of Honor (the highest military honor given). Following his service he went on to act in a 44 Hollywood movies.
